EMERGE PROGRAM DETAILS
Emerge is:
- A diverse community of rising leaders and changemakers in all sectors across Central Texas.
- A lab for leadership development guided by experienced practitioners.
- A forum for self-discovery where skills are learned, strengthened, and enriched through class discussions, interactive team activities, and community involvement.
- An entry point into an invaluable network – as an Emerge graduate, you will gain access to a robust community of over 3,000 Leadership Austin alumni.

It was an honor to be included in the Leadership Austin Emerge 2024 cohort with an incredible group of diverse leaders. I came into the program with a nervousness and apprehension and I’m leaving with new friends, supporters, changemakers, and a better understanding of myself.
Emerge motivated me to hold firm to my core values in decision-making processes, raise my voice to help shape public policy — something I had been intimidated to do prior to the class — and allowed me to form meaningful and lasting relationships with civic-minded leaders who truly inspire me. The Leadership Austin community is comprised of people who genuinely care about making Austin and Central Texas a better, more equitable, more innovative, and more generous place, and I’m so grateful for it!
The past couple years, I had been looking for opportunities for leadership development programs to organize my thoughts and strategies around how I can best contribute back to our Greater Austin community. I was fortunate to be selected for Leadership Austin’s Emerge program where we spent the past 9 months interrogating our own motivations and exercising new leadership tools that can help turn passion and purpose into responsible community building.
