Engage Series – April 14

According to Equality Texas, the population of LGBTQIA+ Texans reached 930,000 in 2019. Despite increasing visibility and community acceptance, our LGBTQIA+ neighbors still face medical, legal, economic and cultural access barriers. The State of Texas does not provide comprehensive legal protection for LGBTQIA+ communities in employment, housing, or public accommodations, leaving many vulnerable to unemployment and homelessness. Join us to hear our panelists as they reflect upon the state of LGBTQIA+ life in Greater Austin and actionable steps to improve quality of life through economic empowerment, equitable housing and social de-stigmatization.
