Austin has a robust social services sector, but is it strong enough to maintain our rapidly growing city? As we conclude our Growing Divide series, we’ll address the challenges faced by local health and human services organizations as a result of our increasingly divided community. Bringing perspectives from city, county and nonprofit entities, our panelists will share their visions for meeting the growing social sector needs. They will discuss the suburbanization of poverty and what it means to the vitality of our entire region. Panelists will share concrete examples of the challenges facing our community, as well as innovative solutions to build equality, compassion and inclusion.
Our panelists include:
— Delia Garza, District 2 Council Member, City of Austin
— Sherri Fleming, County Executive, Travis County, Health & Human Services and Veterans Service
— Matt Kouri, CEO, Greenlights
— Shannon Wolfson, Moderator, KXAN
